The Borough of Hillsdale continues to monitor the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) throughout the County of Bergen and metropolitan areas. The Mayor and Borough Council in consultation with the Borough Board of Health, Office of Emergency Management and Emergency Services find it imperative to do everything possible to slow the spread of this serious virus. This situation is difficult and unprecedented, and the Borough recognizes that residents, including our employees, are concerned for their personal health and that of their family and friends.

In an effort to protect the community from complications of the COVID-19, as well as the health of our employees, the Borough will be canceling all senior and recreation sponsored events effective immediately through April 15, 2020. This includes all sponsored Borough events, including but not limited to; Senior Van Service, Senior Events, Recreation Programs, and Little League Opening Day. Canceling

Borough Administration will reassess in advance of April 15 whether or not future events need to be postponed or canceled. This is the prudent and responsible action to take and protect our community from the spread of COVID-19.

The Borough Health Officer, Local Board of Health, and Office of Emergency Management continue to monitor and work closely with the State Department of Health to determine any circulation within Hillsdale.

The Borough will continue to be in contact with the Hillsdale Board of Education and Pascack Valley High School and their respective Superintendents with regard to their plans to protect our community's most valuable resource. The school systems will coordinate their own guidance should it become necessary.

The Borough is encouraging residents, whenever possible, to conduct all business with the Borough online. Borough Hall will maintain normal business hours, if you are feeling ill, please consider staying home and contact the Borough to conduct business at 201-666-4800.

While there is still much to learn about COVID-19, residents should remain calm and vigilant in their own efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and monitor the Center for Disease Control website. www.cdc.gov and the New Jersey Department of Health, www.nj.gov/health and the Northwest Bergen Regional Health Commission at www.nwbrhc.org for updated information.
