How to File a Report (COVID-19 Precautions)

March 16, 2020

Our department is asking you to please follow these precautions during the COVID-19 outbreak:

In case of emergency dial 911 and headquarters is open for emergencies, however;

  • Avoid coming to Police Headquarters unless you absolutely have to.
  • You should call first and be screened by the Dispatcher if your matter is not an emergency.
  • Most reports can be handled over the phone and faxed or emailed to you.

Our great dispatchers handle EVERY single 9-1-1 Police, Fire, and EMS call that comes in; Our personnel are limited and we cannot afford to lose them during this National, State, County and Local emergency. We must enact measures to protect our personnel during this Pandemic.

We are committed to providing the highest level of service to our residents as we have always done.

Our officers are highly trained and have witnessed some of the largest disasters to affect the area from 9/11 to Super Storm Sandy and everything in between, we’ve always been here. Sometimes on double and triple shifts, with little sleep. But we’ve always been able to serve. This virus has the potential to disrupt our operations if we don’t make these changes.

Stay safe, stay healthy and help each other. Together we will get through this. Thank you for your cooperation, understanding, and support.
