Endangering the Welfare of a Child
On 5/18/2019, the Hillsdale Police Department arrested THOMAS SQUILANTI (DOB: 07/27/1966) of 431 Piermont Avenue, Hillsdale, New Jersey, on a charge of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
On 5/18/2019, the Hillsdale Police Department received information about an incident that occurred on 5/16/2019, in the early evening hours on the George White Middle School outdoor basketball court. The Hillsdale Police immediately began an investigation of the incident. The investigation revealed that an adult male, later identified as THOMAS SQUILANTI, approached multiple juveniles while they were playing basketball. THOMAS SQUILANTI then proceeded to allow the children to drive his electric scooter and began a conversation with the children. During the course of the conversation with said juveniles, THOMAS SQUILANTI used inappropriate, alarming and threatening sexual language directed at the children that he encountered.
At the conclusion of the investigation, SQUILANTI was arrested and charged with one count of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4A(2) a 3rd degree crime. SQUILANTI was released from the Hillsdale Police Department with a complaint summons and is scheduled to appear in Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court on Wednesday, May 29, at 8:30 a.m.
