Good Day Program

Over 10 years ago, the Hillsdale Police Department recognized the need to stay in contact with members of our senior population. Many older members of our community live alone and may have little or no daily contact with friends or family. We felt it would be beneficial for our department, as well as concerned families, to have daily contact with these residents.

The Good Day Program is quite simple. Each day, members of our Good Day Program contact the Police Desk by phone before 11:00 a.m. Our communications personnel then record those members as having checked in. At 11:00 a.m., we attempt to contact any members who did not call in, first by phone. If that is unsuccessful, an officer is dispatched to the residence to ensure that the Good Day member is okay.

For current Good Day members, we ask that you notify us if you will be away so that we know not to expect your call.

If you would like to be added to the Good Day Program, please contact P.O. Bruce at Jbruce@hillsdalepolice.com and provide your name, phone number, and address. Your information will then be forwarded to Bergen County Communications, who will oversee the program and daily communications.
